Cllr. Anthony Lavin
Fingal County Council - Electoral Area: Howth - Malahide
Councillor Anthony Lavin was co-opted to Fingal County Council in March 2011, replacing Deputy Alan Farrell. He was subsequently elected in 2014, and again in 2019. He was elected as Cathaoirleach of Fingal County Council for the 2018-19 year. Anthony also served as Lord Mayor of Fingal having been elected in June 2018.

He has lived for the past 26 years in Malahide; he has lived in Chalfont for over 20 years, and prior to that lived in Kinsealy and Seabury.

Anthony is married to Tina. His two grown-up children, Jane and Bryan are both at college. Originally from Swinford, Co. Mayo, he is a graduate of the Marketing Institute of Ireland (MMII), and DCU, where he attained a Bachelor of Business Studies. He works as a Customer Care Manager for AXA Insurance Limited. Councillor Lavin has been active within the Fine Gael party since his teenage years, and has played a central role in the party’s organisation in Malahide over the past 20 years.

He acted as Election Agent for both Alan Farrell TD and Minister James Reilly TD in the 2011 General Election. In addition to local politics, he is involved in a number of community-based projects and groups.

He is also an active member of St. Sylvester’s GAA Club Malahide, and in his limited spare time enjoys walking his dog in Malahide Park and along the beach.
