Priorities
I have identified the following priorities in my electoral area
  • The completion of the Broadmeadows Way from Malahide to Donabate and the Sutton to Malahide Cycleway with a solution to Barrack Bridge (particularly the poor pedestrian footpath).
  • Completion of the €5m new street project to compliment Malahide Green.
  • Maintain the Blue Flag at Velvet Strand and ensure that the Sand Dunes at Portmarnock are protected.
  • Completion of the upgrade of Kinsealy Lane Malahide.
  • Safe pedestrian / cycleways along Chapel Road Kinsealy to Station Road Portmarnock
  • I want Malahide Cricket Club to be a national cricket ground with a new Clubhouse that will cater for Club needs with key infrastructure to host internationals without having to construct a stadium each season.
  • On Fingal Joint Policing Committee, I ask for longer public opening hours at Malahide Garda Station. The installation of Community CCTV in Malahide Village.
  • Provision of affordable and social housing in the Malahide, Portmarnock and Kinsealy areas. FCC are securing sites. Provision of step-down housing in Malahide and Portmarnock.
  • The renovation and bringing back into residential or community use of the derelict cottages in Malahide Demesne.
  • I recognise the importance of Dublin Airport to the Fingal economy. The DAA need to step up to its responsibilities, correct mistakes and provide mitigation measures to reduce the effect of aircraft noise levels in Portmarnock, Kinsealy and Malahide.
  • We need to provide adequate primary and secondary school capacity in Malahide & Portmarnock.
  • St Sylvester’s GAA Club development in Broomfield is under way and I look forward to its completion next year. Together with Naomh Mearnóg - a great GAA hub.
  • In Drinan Enterprise Centre we had the opening in May of a Creative Media Studio and Remote Working Hubs.
